The year, choices and lessons learnt

This year has been filled with so many experiences, challenges, feelings, struggles, joys and triumphs. It seems like time is passing quickly and yet we seem to be able to fit in so much more. A week at times seems like a month has passed with so many experiences and achievements and yet the year seems to have passed in a blink of an eye.

As we near the end of another year it presents an opportunity to take a moment and reflect on the year that has passed, to release things that may have caused us to hold onto experiences with negative attachments, to be grateful for all the things we have learnt and all that has been shared with us. Gratitude for our family and friends and community support. The opportunity to open the door and welcome new changes, new experiences, lessons and adventures, which enable emotional, mental, physical and spiritual growth.

An interesting thing that I have learnt recently is that not all choices we need to make for ourselves necessarily FEEL good. It’s an interesting thing that we sometimes can mistake feeling good as an indication that the choice we make is right for us, or that we look at it as a confirmation of having made the right choice. One of the most difficult decisions I have had to make – made me feel an enormous amount of emotional pain and sadness. Allowing some time to pass has helped confirm the decision was right because of the sense of peace that I felt within. An interesting lesson -“If you love something – set it free”. This is sometimes so hard to do because of our fears, of losing someone or something or even change itself. Essentially we are all free spirits and don’t ‘belong’ to anyone, we owe it to ourselves to make sure we are happy in our own skin and are doing the best to love ourselves enough to let go of things that aren’t 100% right for us (authenticity within). We never know what the future holds and if we can truly let go then we might be nicely surprised .. given patience, trust and love.

Many people look back at the year that has passed and look to the new year for something “easier” or something “better”. There is no denying that it is good to have a positive outlook but I find the judgement of things as being bad and looking for things that are better – can booby-trap us and set us up for  disappointment.

My thoughts are focused a little bit differently for the year ahead. My intention for all is that we allow assimilation of our lessons in the past to add to our inherent wisdom. For us to be brought closer to our spirit, our true selves, for our connection to our higher selves (the universe, God or whatever you wish to name it) to be clear and audible as it guides us along our paths. To allow ourselves to be kinder, more gentle with ourselves first and foremost and to connect with the pure love that dwells deep within us, the pure love that we are.

I believe that if we set this as our intention – To be unconditionally loving and accepting of ourselves and To love whatever arises – our journeys will be easier to traverse.

My gratitude for being here at this special time with all the amazing souls and the journey we walk together.

May you be blessed – not just in the year ahead but always, in all ways.

Words, pictures, feelings and their power

Wow what a heavy couple of weeks it has been! Who doesn’t agree? Such heavy energy to wade through and as I come up to the surface for air – I once again see the light and am grateful.

It has been so difficult to hold onto the light and positive, which then brought the gift of realization. Realization of the need to let go and embrace the darkness, the shadow. This full moon has brought some interesting new learning and growth with it. It is one thing knowing – intellectually what is going on and another to feel your way through the emotions and find the right path for yourself.

One of the things that I have learned and would like to share is of the importance of our words and the pictures we hold in our minds. When we speak to others, we also hear what we say and we build pictures in our minds. One of the sayings that I have been known to parroting is “Life is a roller coaster – we just have to ride it” – Thanks Ronan Keating for those words! Although life can seem to be like that – the picture and the feeling it instills needs to be the focus of our attention. We need to ask ourselves what the roller coaster means to us. Well this picture can give the appearance of exhilaration and that alive feeling (for me however – I’m always on the top of the highest curve on the ride – the only way is down – and the plunging gut feeling that comes with that)- this brings nausea at a deep level for me and a complete sense of being out of control. Life then follows suit from this picture. The feeling generated is sent out to the universe – my expectation of life and circumstances and events fall into place and I am on the roller coaster – AAAGH! I can not believe it has taken me so long to realize that I have been holding that picture in my mind and every time I said those words, I put into play those feelings and ultimately called forth more of that into my life. The truth is we all hold steering wheels of life in our hands and have firm control of an accelerator and the break pedal is also close. There is a new picture and saying that I need to develop that will serve me better than this.

Another saying is “The waves keep coming – we just need to become good surfers” and such a good saying it is and true also. The question is – how good are you really at surfing and what picture is in your mind and what feeling does this evoke in your body? I know I could certainly develop techniques to become a good surfer but this would take some time and effort – the truth is that we are actually already champion surfers. We have made it through life so far and have endured many challenges, trials and tribulations and have grown a tremendous amount. Yes we will be getting more challenges but we already have all that we need in ourselves to not only endure but also triumph. Triumph in our inner growth and learning, our deepening of wisdom, love and understanding.

I encourage everyone to firstly become aware of the pictures that you hold in your mind when you speak and the feelings that they instill in you. Then to make a choice what needs to be adjusted to serve you and your life better.

I, for one have decided to ditch the roller coaster and replace it with a red convertible with the top down on a sunny day, steering wheel firmly in hand and choosing the direction that I am traveling in, I am aware that there will be pot holes and obstacles  but these things are there for me to experience to improve my skills and to deepen the experience of life.

Embracing the dark and the light, self-love, and dichotomy may be a dirty word

Leading on from my last blog about searching externally for only good things or focusing entirely on the negative and drowning in that – I would like to take the exploration internally now and acknowledge the need for recognition, for honoring and accepting. Accepting that – which we all are.

It is a journey I am on, and I know if I am on that journey – I am not the only one. I consider myself to be on the path of divine service in this lifetime, this is my dharma. This was again confirmed recently when I was honored the privilege of earning my Master Certificate in Seichim – an ancient form of energy healing -(simple words that do not encompass all that this entails. It is a way of life. A deeper understanding of life and the self. The I AM.) To clarify for those that need it -A Master – simply means that the art has been mastered enough by the person to enable them to teach – to share the gift with others – no more – no less.

Part of that journey then and a challenge is to recognize that we are dual beings. Beings of light and dark. Yin and Yang. Left and right. Good and Bad. Not only, do we need to bring ourselves around to firstly recognizing this, but also to acknowledging it and accepting it.   Embracing it.

Embracing the shadow side of ourselves. For too long, we have pushed it away from ourselves, judged it as bad – unwanted, a burden, disliked, shunned and disconnected from it. Denied it. We strive to only feel happy, to only connect to the light side of us. To be good – to do good. Yet – where there is light – a shadow exists. Where the sun shines, all objects, solid in the third dimension cast a shadow. Not only does it exist – it makes us whole. It is the balance. We need it for growth. For the expansion of our selves and thus the expansion of the universe.

Dichotomy is an interesting word, one a dear friend of mine likes to use on occasion. One of the definitions of the word – dichotomy – is a division or contrast between two things that are, or are represented as being opposed or entirely different. An interesting word. Within opposites (when things are broken down enough) we find similarities or the need for each other – one can not exist without the other, an interconnectedness – so is there indeed a division? or is it merely perceived as such? So is the dark side of us dichotomous to the light side? Separate? Opposite?              I think by the fact that dark and light are a part of a whole -a part of us – when accepted – it creates balance and therefore is not separate. Balance is something we all strive to achieve in so many different ways throughout this life. Sometimes we forget to honor and feel gratitude for those things that appear bad or heavy.

In the last week or so I have had a couple of conversations with clients/friends about some emotional challenges that they were experiencing. In both these scenarios they shared that they felt bad about being upset. Not because their issues or feelings weren’t relevant but because compared to what other people are experiencing in their lives – their issues paled in comparison. I think it is fine to have an awareness of other peoples challenges and to feel compassion, however it would serve us best, I believe, not to judge or minimize our own feelings and the impact things can have in our own lives. It is good to have things in perspective, certainly but we are all here individually to experience life and are no more or less of value than any one else. I feel it is our duty to fully delve into our own experiences, for that is all we can truly know and in this way we honor them and ourselves fully. When we fully feel, explore and honor the lessons we can allow them and thus ourselves to be transformed.

So in closing I feel I need to warn you of a possible side effect. Something that may occur as a consequence of becoming better at accepting your shadow side – you may lose the need to continually judge, punish or berate yourself, your behaviors, your thoughts, your actions and this may inadvertently lead to more self acceptance and self-love. Self-Love – I hear you gasp – how dare we? How dare we not? When we have more of it – we have more to share with everyone around us. Who would like to see and feel more of that?

If you liked this article please share with your friends but above all my wish for us all – To Grow in Self Love with Ease and Grace and

May you be blessed ♥

Abundance, Manifestation and Gratitude

As I sit here, ready to write another blog, I see the date and am touched by it’s significance 7/7/2015. Some of my favorite numbers and another master day 22. So many things to be grateful for – in each and every day. A reminder to nurture ourselves, to take some time out and allow the rapid changes that are occurring to be assimilated, to be appreciated and for us, ourselves to regenerate through this winter season.

I have been reflecting on the amazing days since our abundance workshop on winter solstice and am still overwhelmed and in awe of the results. The results for me personally, because that is what I see best, but also for the amplification of that which has flowed to me, by sharing it with others. The reason for the long time between writing has been the overwhelm which ensued, not only the overwhelm of blessings and gratitude but also the overwhelm of challenge and struggle. Two sides of a coin. Yin and Yang. Some of the wisdom that I have gleaned from treating some of my younger clients of late and of my own life experiences, is the importance of acknowledging and truly recognizing the beauty and the necessity of duality. The struggle and the celebration. The pain and the joy. Without one – the other does not exist. How would we know what joy feels like if we have not experienced misery? How would happiness feel had we not experienced sadness? We are here to experience all these things, the fullness of life lies within experiences of the duality. Consciousness expands through us in this way. Yes you read correctly – through our experiences the universe itself expands. Without that – there is nothing.

I ponder why as a society we have been so driven, individually and as a whole to only seek out the good, to always look for greener pastures, to have the fairytale without the villain…or on the other side of this coin to be devastated by the unfairness of the world, the darker sides, the heavier lessons this life has to offer and be consumed by that.

If they are not true reflections of how things are – then why do we seek them so desperately? In the seeking – all the energy that goes into this – we actually miss all the good things that are already right here in front of us and we can go a whole lifetime like this. In trying to run away from the challenges, to hide (under addictions, with denial, avoidance) – we actually can miss the lessons and also the blessings that come with the pain, the discomfort.

It is not, nor has it ever been reality. To have one without the other. Then why do we strive so strongly for it? Is it a ploy to distract us from our true mission? It certainly has distracted mankind for what seems like an eternity.

I feel the shift. It is such a blessing to feel it – to have a true palpable sense of it. There is no ego involved, just true recognition of the blessing and also the honor – of what it is to be connected. It is happening so strongly now – we are realigning with our true selves, with higher awareness and understanding. An avalanche of awareness. The shroud of distraction is being lifted so that we can once again see clearly and move ahead. As a planet, as a people, as energies, spiritual beings united.

With this comes discomfort, panic and fear – change has been known to be scary – it appears to be out of our comfort zone – yet it is part of us. Part of life – every day.

There is so much more that could be said and is being said. An abundance of information and knowledge and yet – it is not complicated nor does it have to be hard. It just needs to be recognized, to be allowed, shown the light of day, transformed with love and then to allow the next thing then to arise. Enjoy the journey, enjoy each moment – it is indeed a gift to each and every one of us to be – to just be – here on this planet – at this time.

Thank you for allowing me to share my thoughts with you and I hope you feel inspired to share with others also.

Winter Solstice and more on the Law of Attraction

This Sunday is Winter Solstice and I am so looking forward to sharing this day with like minded people and celebrating this change of season in a special way. This special playshop will be co-facilitated by my dear friend Sue Kemsley and between us, we have many years of experience and many techniques to help facilitate a shift in ourselves and use the group energy and the power of community to amplify our intentions.

In simpler words we will help release emotions, blocks and things that are holding us back, so that we can then manifest what we desire into our lives.

“Solstice” comes from two Latin words: Sol meaning ‘sun’ and sister meaning ‘to stand still’ this is because it appeared as though the sun and moon had stopped moving across the sky. The longest night of the year, followed by the renewal of the sun. This demonstrates the cyclical order of the cosmos. In this way, celebrating the solstice can be a beautiful remembrance that our lives are part of a larger order, always changing, always renewing. It is an ideal time to leave some things behind and by performing simple rituals with personal meaning to celebrate the solstice, these rituals will serve as touchstones to help us cultivate an attitude of receptiveness and appreciation that will carry us through the next season with more ease.

Sharing food, an important part of any celebration, is particularly meaningful during the solstice, as it represents faith in the return of the sun and the harvest and abundance.

The Law of Attraction

The beliefs and behaviors that we have adopted over the years are the reasons or blocks to manifesting our desires..

As I mentioned in my previous blog about making a list with my kids about the ideal home we wanted to live in – it really was that easy.

We made the list and here is the important part – we got excited about it. We allowed ourselves to FEEL how it would be to live in such a home, we trusted that it would happen and then … we forgot about it. The trust we had in the process allowed us to let it go and then we found the home. It was quite exciting to find this list recently, after totally forgetting and then the realization that we had received everything on that list brought such wonderful gratitude and wisdom of this process.

Another block or belief can be that it is hard, we over- think things and that can be a dream killer. One of my favorite motto’s is KISS – Keep It Simple Sweetheart . That is exactly what my children and I did above – simple but specific.

It might be good to start small with your manifesting and build on the feelings that generate when they manifest. It’s like anything in life – practice makes perfect. We usually ask for a parking space and always believe there is one available for us and there usually is and then we fell gratitude and give thanks. You could also use simple opportunities to manifest wishes – like when you blow out a birthday candle (feel how it would be for your wish to come true), when an eyelash falls to your cheek or when you see synchronistic times on your clock like 11.11. Use as many opportunities as you can to have fun with this process – to feel and manifest.

The next step is then to dream big, seemingly impossible dreams! As the saying goes, “Shoot for the moon, even if you miss – you’ll land among the stars”. There is no reason why we can not have our dream home or car or an abundance of money. To harness the power of The Law of Attraction, we must realize that we have unlimited potential. Daring to dream big is a sign to the universe that you believe that anything is possible, or at the very least, that you are on your way to believing. Take some time and think about what it would feel like to be a billionaire or to change the world. Money certainly gives you that freedom and that is my motivation – the more money I have – the more I have to share with others.

I am looking forward to letting go, or at least transforming some more blocks and beliefs, this weekend to enable me to dream bigger and manifest more.

With gratitude for this abundant universe!

Thank you for reading this and I look forward to your feedback and if you feel drawn to share this site and page – it is much appreciated!!

May you be blessed.

Law of Attraction

A good friend of mine has encouraged me to begin something new – blogging. I sense the need to move with the times but some uncertainty of where to start seemed a good excuse for a while… until now. So many things that are exciting and interesting and challenging in our lives these days. Today I choose – The Law of Attraction.

There is a lot of useful and wonderful articles on the law of attraction but sharing one of my own experiences may be helpful.

One of the latest challenges for my two teenage children and myself has been the impending sale of the rental home we currently live in.

After a couple of very challenging years, which included 3 house moves in a year (I had only moved 3 times in my life time) – we had been very relieved and pleased when we at last found this wonderful home in August of 2013. I just recently found our list, that we had made as a family, of things that were important to us in our new home and that we hoped to manifest. I had totally forgotten that we had made that list which included things like heating, space for a treatment room, decent size yard in a nice neighborhood, near friends, a place full of light and a nice decent size bath. This home covered all those things and more and we felt blessed to find it and enjoy living here immensely. So you can imagine how we all felt when we were advised in August of last year that the current owners were intending to sell it. The last thing we wanted to do was to move again!!

I struggled with emotions that arose in me to begin with and to be honest it did take some time to work my way through those. Especially with the intrusion of our private space by the owners, who weren’t very considerate or kind and the rental agents, who have been less than helpful – most of the time. The continued interruption to daily life to allow perspective buyers to view the place whilst trying to run a business and take care of two teenagers.

As the months went by and my clients asked about the sale, I kept repeating that the ideal solution for us would be that another investor would buy it and allow us to continue to rent. It was a possibility but not a probability due to the higher price range of the home. I kept repeating that and honestly felt that this is our home.

We did the practical things of having a garage sale and clearing out the old, which needed to happen in any case. I also stayed true to myself by keeping the home clean, tidy and presentable. I also ventured at looking around the area for a possible new place to reside but nothing appealed to me, mostly due to the fact that I felt this is where we are meant to be – for now.

I kept looking at all the nice things that this home brings to us and feeling such gratitude for it. I did this on a daily basis whilst trying to not get too upset about the continued intrusion – in fact as I cleaned the place I kept feeling gratitude for being here and allowed those feelings to be stronger than the annoyance of the intrusion and interruptions.

I am pleased to finish this sharing with the good news that this home has in fact been sold to new investors whom I have met and are lovely people. This has been such a relief for the children and myself and such a blessing! They are happy to continue renting the home to us, in fact it was a condition of their purchase. I am amazed and pleased at this outcome. A fine example of the Law of Attraction at work. I will write an article in the next week or so on a few things to make the law of attraction work in your lives.

May you be blessed. ♥
